This red ant fell from the tree just in my neck, and yes, that hurts, I took out my shirt immediately and voila, this came out of my shirt....and sure, he was so kind to stand like a photo-model in front of my camera while my neck was itched badly :-)
Uhm, in this place where I saw the big fly, there are no flowers, only trees !
I think it's family of the horse-fly (Tabanidae), in Suriname we've got two of them, in surinamees we call it, the "cowfree" and the other, the "brokoston", both are drinking blood
The bushfly is about 3,5 cm big
