Leuba Ridgway, I believe you are right! Finding the species in this case is very exciting for me, as I observed adult Gulf Fritillary butterflies the same day, but didn't put the two together until the ID was made.

Likewise tentatively, I agree with your identification of the creature as Bipalium vagum.

It appears to be the pupa of a moth, but I haven't yet been able to find which kind.
