Sign In to followThere's some confusion with this one taxonomically. There are three species, C. lutetiana, C. canadensis, and C. quadrisculata that are all pretty much the same and I think are now just grouped together as C. lutetiana.
Also, Circaea is named for the Circe, the witch of Greek mythology who appears in the Odyssey. So that's cool.
You've got it, autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata).
It looks like Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans). These leaves look more dissected than normal, probably because it's growing back hard after each mowing (I assume). If you let one grow, you'll know for sure. The flowers are beautiful!
In my opinion, it's the finest tasting raspberry.
