I do have the scientific name in there, I always look them up when I know what animal I am spotting. :)

The last 2 or 3 times I have been there, I have noticed more of them than usual. They are soooo pretty; it's amazing how different their coloring is in the shadow and in the sunlight.
We have the same birds in Florida, here they are Moorhens or Gallinules. I love their honking noise!
Looks very similar to a wetlands bird we have called a Pied-Billed Grebe. Maybe a cousin?
Was just there Sunday and we saw no bunnies, very sad. My in-laws have them in their neighborhood though. :-)
