I also use http://zipcodezoo.com/ for searching base on location/ISP : ... and on the 48 species of Aulacophora genus, i try to search & see one by one... and woow! they looks very similar for me.. :))
AshishNimkar.., I don't know the identity of the insect in the photo, and i try search on gooogle, there are many foto that similar to this yellow-bug, they named cucumber beetle, or cucurbit leaf beetle, squash beetle etc...! and I also see many for "Scarlet Lily beetle" that looks more red with black head. and i read on wikipedia, that mention the "Scarlet Lily beetle" is quite dependent on the presence of lilies plant.
thanks..., the spider may be: Mangrove St. Andrew's Cross Spider -female (Argiope mangal Koh, 1991)
I mean colias is a genus. all they from family of Pieridae. but check this links for sure:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoebis_sen... (Cloudless Sulphur)
2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulphur_but... (Sulphur butterfly)
3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurema (grass yellow butterflies)
I mean colias is a genus :) but c'mon we checkagain this yellow butterfly.
@Alicelongmartin, I believe: the name of this spotting this is already correct. this is a butterfly from the family of Eurema (grass yellow) and the species is Eurema hecabe.... There are three (frequently looks very similar) families of yellow butterflies: Eurema (grass yellow), Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis Sennae) and Clouded yellows (Colias)...
At first, If your butterfly from Indonesia, I'm not sure this "orange sulfur (colias)" but i believe: this is from the family Eurema (grass yellow butterflies in the family Pieridae). and from its special characteristics at the beginning of the forewing: it have two spots! The species of your butterfly is Eurema hecabe (common GrassYellow).
There are three families of yellow butterflies: Please check again and make compare the family of Eurema (grass yellow) x Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis Sennae fam) and also Clouded yellows (Colias fam).
thanks for the ID, Ashish
Thanks Ashish..., although it is difficult to find confirmation of its presence in East Java, I also believe this this Asura Sp.
