A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Its doing well now, We kept it in over night. It was getting fairly frustrated trying to get out, so I put my hand in this morning and it eventually sat still on my finger. I then took it out of the cage and took it outside. It looked at me and away and then back at me, then away. Then it flew away to the East as fast as it could.
The flash had some effect on the picture, But I know that it is one. Slaters all around as well.
We have the Katipo which is rarer than the Kiwi. So 1 vs unknown... lol
I have never actually witnessed an attack, though it would be very interesting to see. The slow movement of the A.B. would throw off other bugs as well. The actual bug was about 6-7mm long including the legs out in front, roughly. Not a lot is known about them, They aren't even on Wikipedia.
