A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife

I can update the listing to make it "Opuntia sp.", but if you have any leads on an exact species I would be most appreciative. I will do some research myself and see what we can come up with. If we still don't have any leads by tomorrow I will simply make the spotting of an "Opuntia sp."
I hate to give a species ID when you already have it identified, but I couldn't help it. This is one I actually know!

I will update this find as soon as we can determine the exact species of this flower. As of now, all we have been able to determine is the genus (Anthurium). Once we can determine the species (or determine that it cannot be determined), I will update the entry with the proper common and scientific names. I hope to have an answer soon, and any botanists in the Project Noah community are invited to assist in this endeavor.

Yes, it's definitely a porcupine, and given that it is displayed in the Amazonia exhibit I would venture a guess that it is a New World species (Erethizontidae); however, until I can verify the exact species I will leave it as an unidentified spotting.
