yes. I have a picture of the same thing on here. It definitely is a wheel bug nymph. and i agree with Gordon, they have venom that dissolves soft tissue. Not as bad on a human compared to if they bite another insect but still hurts really bad!
I am glad it freaked me out then and I didn't want to get close.
suggestions: Lavender Blood Red Corn Snake or an Indigo Snake. The lavender type can range from light purple to dark.

Definitely a luna moth. They are spectacular.
Goes with the name but that one is much darker and lives mainly in Africa and Madagascar. well, as much as I know after just researching it.
