There are some wasps that do hunt cicadas. But just perhaps the wasp was drinking some cicada rain, the liquid released when cicadas feed.
Looks like a White-cheeked Starling to me, however the beak is rather dark. It could be very young?
Thank you for sharing. They are truly remarkable! The wings are believe or not actually rather clear however I think in the photo it just seems more opaque. I think this species since it is active in the day is a bit more common in Japan, but still really cool to spot.
An endemic snail to Japan- they used to be used to predict weather, when they were seen climbing mulberry bushes it was said that rain was near.
