Hi Joseph, check your spotting against the Fragaria in www.flowersofindia.net. I think it might be one of those rather than Fragaria vesca. I love to pick wild strawberries from the hedgerow when I'm back in Devon, UK... they are delicious! Will miss them this year, as I'm not visiting until late September.
