Eurasian collared doves are becoming more frequent across North America. The black ring on the back of the neck distinguishes it from the mourning dove, which has more of a black cheek smudge.

Female wood ducks have a distinctive white tear drop shape around the eye. I think these are female mallards.

There is a lot of regional variation in Song Sparrows but I think this is one. it seems pale but I'm more used to the western subspecies.

I'm not 100% sure of my ID because I don't know the birds of Peru, but that's sure what it looks like to me.

Herring Gull is larger, with pinkish legs in adult, no black ring around bill, and red spot on lower mandible.

I had to look this up the other day when someone at the Nature House asked me where all the male mallards were.

This looks like a Chipping Sparrow to me.

You got it! It's an Osprey.

They look like females but are males in eclipse plummage. notice the yellow bills? Females have orange bills. They will return to their more familiar coloration in the fall.
