Thank you so much for the correction. Based on the head shape and thorax coloring, I believe you are right that it is a Golden-winged Skimmer.

Nope. We watched him for quite a while and although he made many attempts, he came up empty-beaked every time. We even saw him yesterday and he had the same bad luck.
