I have several of these trees in my yard. My urge is to kill them all. The seed pods are more work to remove than I care for. Stepping on them not only is painful but embeds them into the grass making them like burdock pods to remove.

Wife advises she smells pineapple on the leaf... smells like a weed to me... not nearly as strong as common sage but maybe a hint. Looks nice and I may cultivate some next year in the front garden.
