*Shrugs shoulders* If it looks like a bee and is a fly, it's usually a bee fly. It's meant to look like a bee.
The roots are used for rat bites and disinfecting the wound. (I only know it works on cats.)

I think it has a better chance of being a green.
Was he eating something weird when you found him? If so, it might be a baby Leopard frog. (Rana sphenocephala)
I know this plant very well because they are a weed and are ALL OVER my backyard!
