Thank you. I thought about that, because I have seen other gulf coast toads around there, but I was not familiar with that color pattern.
I think this one was one of several that were fairly newly hatched and were just taking their maiden flights after drying their wings..
I've run across some before, but they were growing from tree roots and had more of a stem, so looked somewhat different.
It was fascinating watching such small birds carrying and maneuvering such large twigs.
They are always fun to watch.
