Long-horned bees (tribe Eucerini) are a notoriously difficult group to identify to genus, so tribe is the best I can do :)
My pleasure :)
Cuckoo wasps and metallic sweat bees look very, very similar even to insect hobbyists! :)
It is difficult to discern from this camera angle but it seems that this is a bee with a facial fovea. If that is true, this would be an Andrenid bee--perhaps in the genus Andrena.
Hello fellow naturalists!
This is a metallic green sweat bee--solitary bees that nest in the ground. The tribe Augochlorini includes three North American genera that are very difficult to tell apart from photos and often require very specific camera angles in order to distinguish specimens to the genus level.
Great photo! :)
