A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thanks guys. The second photo is of the juvenile, the first is the male or "dad" of the juvenile. The juvenile was just yawning when I snapped the photo lol
If you took this photo from the wild, then it is a Barred Owl.
@alicelongmartin - he was tuckered out from the chase. We were probably 25ft from it up in the tree.
@KarenLoughreyRichard - I just got done working for cougar research project in the Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan. The grad student I worked for had 10 cougar collared. He is looking at habitat and prey selection of the cougars in the area. It actually has one of the highest densities of cougars in that area!
The grad student that I am working for is trying to see the relationships between human and cougar use, as well as habitat and prey selection.
The mother is still being tracked, and now this one is too.
I'm working on a cougar project and was able to find this male via radio telemetry of the mom. Quite an amazing experience. I feel so privileged to help out with this.
Almost looks like Thistle.
I don't have my reptile and amphibian book with me, but at a first glance I thought it was a treefrog or maybe a spring peeper. But I honestly don't know what it is. Grass frog huh? I've never heard of them. Thanks guys!
