Thank you to dcfieldview and Kat VH for the id! I thought they looked familiar somehow but I've never grown them before. Photos really don't do them justice...they really are very beautiful flowers!
Thank you :). Yes, this plant smells nothing like the plant that I knew for sure was thyme, and to me still smells quite like rosemary - although that may just be the power of suggestion at play in my mind :). Just so, it works well in any recipes that call for rosemary...even of it isn't!
Oh dear, do I feel like a dumbass! I just looked at some photos, I think you are right! I'm so use to thyme that's more lobed, and I was told it was rosemary by the friend so I just never second guessed it! Good to know :)
At least, I'm pretty certain. It's grown from a curing of my friend's plant, and it smells quite like rosemary to me and I've been including it in recipes as such. I'll try to find out the specific variety from her...there are many many different varieties!
Positive. I've had it growing in this pot for 2 years now. I have basil elsewhere but it's frost burnt and not pretty enough to share :)
Looks like a morel OR a false morel. It depends on how the cap meets the stem.
I just love this picture. He/she looks quite surprised!
