There were still very large herds in the Serengeti when I was there in June, along with Grant's gazelles, but they had already begun their migration to Masai Mara in Kenya. I guess they are there now.

The one on the left is a Grant's gazelle, the one on the right is a Thomson's gazelle.
Yes, they were certainly aware of our presence but as you can see, in no way bothered by it!

Thanks for the comments. Christiane, this one is protected in a wildlife sanctuary in Healesville. That is sad that they are often shot.
