Hyllus keratodes
A large hairy jumping spider. Hyllus cf. keratodes, subadult. She is about 12mm in length. Mostly black in color, golden brown abdomen, legs covered in white hairs, white linings on its side, 2 thick tuft of hairs pointing out from both side of its forehead. Her muscular long legs are its primary weapon. It has a habit of lifting her head up to observe something (usually photographers) while displaying its long pair of front legs. This habit is recorded in many other photos taken by other people.
On a banana plant in Poring Hot Springs, Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia. Ranau Poring Hot Springs is another place where there is an abundance of animal species.
This is one of the largest jumping spiders that I have ever seen, it is fairly brave too. It does not seem to be afraid of me nor the camera but it is very active, thus making it difficult to be photographed. >>>Map accuracy : 3km radius.

The symbiotic relationship between the spider and the plant where the spider benefits from shelter provided from the plant and prey on the bugs that attack the plant. Is this explanation acceptable ?
Lovely series Chun! Please can you describe the symbiotic relationship that exists here.
