Five Ring butterfly

Yphtima baldus

Description:

This species has five yellow-ringed eyespots in the fore- and hindwings. The upperside is brown, and is suffused with a pattern of small whitish lines.The sexes are similar . This butterfly is on the wing all year round. The green caterpillar feeds on a wide variety of grasses.

Habitat:

High land forest, tropical forest, open grassland, cultivated and populated land.
