Bohemian Waxwing

Description:

27 Bohemian Waxwings eating berries (grapes). 7-8 inches. A sleek, gray-brown, crested bird. Similar to the Cedar Waxwing, but larger, with conspicuous white wing patches and rusty (not white) undertail coverts. This handsome bird of the north woods is a rare winter visitor to the northeastern US. When it appears, often in large flocks - sometimes in 100 or more. They are erratic, and may suddenly appear will outside their normal range as this year as they have been cited across VT.

Open coniferous forests

2nd time I have seen them this winter.
