Noctuid Moth

Description:

Although this looks like a butterfly I think this is a moth. It is quite large actually. It measures nearly 2" across. I have see a few over the last months but only at night.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5 months into the 6 month rainy season.
