This is a juvenile black-crowned night heron. Looks completely different from its parent. Brown with white spots and streaks. Bill has greenish base. Small redish eyes.
This juvenile black-crowned night heron was spotted near St Catherine Lake in New Orleans, Louisiana. There were several adults and juveniles at this sighting.
