Glossy Black-Cockatoo (Casuarina)

Description:

slate grey large chunky bill, glossy black plumage, bright orange panel in tail.

Habitat:

dry upper trail between the 3 Sisters Outlook and the Grand Staircase, Blue Mtns, Katoomba, NSW

Notes:

It was so exciting to find and watch this feeding group of Glossy Black-Cockatoos. The female has black barring on the orange tail panel whereas the males do not.
