Bolete

Description:

A fairly large bolete about 120mm across the cap. Pileus slightly felt like, Margin puckered or tucked. Stipe very stout and ovoid in section about 50mm thick by 30mm.

Habitat:

In compacted clay ground within very open dry sclerophyll eucalyptus woodland but a week after very big rainfall. Maybe 5 metres away from the nearest tree.

Notes:

Yet to find an ID.
