False Dyer’s Polypore

Description:

Cap ca. 5-6 inches wide; large lobes with some concentric ridging at the margin; hairy (although water-logged after 3 inches of rain overnight). Pore surface white; small circular pores at margin; larger irregular pores otherwise.

Habitat:

Bracket growing at the base, almost on the ground, of a living Loblolly Pine (Pinus taeda)
