Red Underwing

Description:

Large moth with grey wings when closed. Underwings of pinkish-red and black. Wingspan between 65 and 80mm

Habitat:

Woodland, scrub, riverbanks, gardens.

Notes:

This moth was spotted resting on the inside of my patio doors in my living room during the afternoon. My garden is quite large, and has many wild bushes such as raspberries and mint. Situated in the countryside.
