Pollinator bioblitz - Metro Vancouver

Pollinator bioblitz - Metro Vancouver

We are focusing our survey in the Metro Vancouver area, so please no photos outside Vancouver. When you spot a pollinator be sure to try and include these pieces of information in your photograph: - the plant the pollinator is on - details of the bee (or other pollinator): try to get a photo where the entire body of the bee is in focus. Similarly please try and photograph the bee so that its abdomen (the bum of the bee) is visible, as most identification features are located here. - be precise in your map location of where the photo is taken Sign in to join mission

Our "pollinator bioblitz" is looking at the urban landscape of Metro Vancouver to see what types of pollinator biodiversity we can find in the city. This will help us get a better understanding of where our urban pollinators are, and what we can do to help protect them! When you spot a bee, butterfly or other insects that may be pollinating flowers you too can contribute to citizen science and contribute to our pollinator biodiversity survey by uploading a photo for our mission!
