Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Description:

This is a three month old rescued Great Horned Owl. Notice they are not born with horn feathers; they grow in with age.

Habitat:

This one was in the back seat of a truck before he came out in the daylight for a few pictures. Great Horned Owls are very adaptable, but this one in particular has been rescued and adopted.

Notes:

A customer brought this Great Horned Owl by our small store and gave us a chance to meet him.

HI BWood! How lovely yto get do close to such an awesome bird. As Satyen has advised, please crop the photo so that the owl is the main focus of the image as we request that humans do not dominate the photos of wildlife posted here. Thanks!

Love spotting BWoodNC. I would request if you could add a cropped image where, only the organism is visible. Looking forward to more spottings from you. Thank you in advance.
