Scorpion (under UV light)

Description:

dark blue, about 1.5" long, the first 2 photos is with a UV flashlight, the third photo is with my camera flash

Habitat:

tropical forest, under bark on a huge tree

Notes:

I spotted a ton of scorpions hiding under bark on a tree the second tier of the falls at Erawan National Park. There were at least 20 or more scorpions hiding under the bark. Just their claws were sticking out. I managed to get one of them on the ground for the photo. Unfortunately I didn't have my tripod and couldn't get a crystal clear shot of them under the UV light. This was the first time I have seen so man scorpions. I saw them on a nightwalk. The tree they were on was surrounded by people all day long. It was crazy to think there were so many scorpions that close to so many people and I'm sure they never even knew it.
