Roadrunner nest

Description:

Nest sighting about 15' up in juniper tree. Dark spot in photo. Have seen roadrunner jumping branch to branch to reach it from ground, deliver something, then glide to ground and run off. Exterior of nest is snapped off juniper branches, now dried and brown, hidden within live branches. The nest is two feet or more across, and deep.

Habitat:

The tree is an Eastern Red Cedar growing in a greenbelt in a subdivision. A small creek runs just below it, and the tree is about 20 feet from a well used jogging trail.
