Schizocosa spp.
Members of the genus Schizocosa are among the smallest wolf spiders in Kentucky, with a body length that rarely exceeds 1/4". They are also some of the most common wolf spiders, especially in meadows and leaf litter where they prey on springtails and other small insects. This female is carrying her egg sac. After the pictures were taken she was released where she was found with her egg sac. Information provided by University of Kentucky Entomology.
