Barn Swallow; Golondrina Común

Hirundo rustica

Description:

A remarkable thing about these birds is that they migrate thousands of miles twice a year, spending winter in Africa but nearly always return to the same nesting sites in spring. The fact that this one turned up yesterday evening and went straight to the nest would imply that it is most likely either one of those which hatched last year or one of last years parents.

Habitat:

Nesting in outbuilding.

Notes:

It is interesting to note that this nest has grown higher each year but there does not seem to be much more room for improvement!

fabricaste el nido? yo tengo uno en casa desde el año pasado, pero no apaecen las golondrinas
quizás no utilicé la metodologia o el lugar adecuado

Thanks for the comments. I will be monitoring it as usual so there will hopefully be lots more spottings for it, especially at feeding time.
