Hypercompe sp.
This is one of the most feared caterpillars of Brazil. The bright spots over it are, actually, drops of the chemicals that it produces, and that can cause burning like wounds and terrible pain.

Your link doesn't work properly, but I found your info. Unfortunately the ID from this Scribonia is wrong. It is for sure a Hypercompe sp., but not Scribonia, which is clearly white with black spots and markings. That one is creamy. But I must admit that the caterpillar looks very similar. There are at least 20 to 30 species in South America.
Here is the link. There are also many other confirmed IDs of this species in Brazil. http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/87803htt...
@Bayucca: There is a specimens of Hypercompe scribonia in Brazil. I'll find the link when I get home.
No problem. I would mention someplace in the description that this is the Brazilian Variety
Tx Bayucca.
Hypercompe sp., yes, but not Scribonia, since this is not found in Brazil.
Thanks a lot, JGorneau. I really wanted to know its ID.
