Streaked Spiderhunter

Arachnothera magna

Description:

Though called spiderhunter, I only saw it sipping nectar and its long beak does seem to be adapted for drinking nectar. The front is yellowish-olive with striations in brown. I loved this little beauty because it sat still for long moments allowing me to focus the camera.

Habitat:

This is an easy to spot bird while walking on the roads of a small hamlet called Latpanchar in West Bengal.

Nice picture SukanyaDatta! Even it is a sunbird, it has the size of a sparrow.
So I guess it is capable of catching spiders and insects too.
