Brown Anole

Anolis sagrei

Description:

Brown anoles are native to the Caribbean (Cuba and the Bahamas) and are found in Hawaii on Kauai, Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. It was first seen on Oahu in 1992 but some say it was introduced around 1980, probably as escaped pets or on nursery plant materials. Now it gets around the island by hitchhiking on nursery materials and cars.

Yard and shrubs by house near ocean.
