Paropsisterna gloriosa
A small beetle with bright markings of yellow and red and outlined in black. There is often the appearance of the colors flowing into each other. Yes, another one of these rather common beetles. It is hard to resist sharing these. I do not expect they are common every year.
On eucalyptus on roadside easement.
The apical yellow blotch is large, differing from Paropsisterna annularis. This blotch extends to the lateral vitta (yellow side stripe) and continuous with it (or nearly so). http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations...

And glorious it is! Great spotting and shots Martin.
Thanks Martin ..i will make sure i get loads of pictures IF and When i do :). I thought i would found a few Leaf Beetles by now , but then we had 20cms of snow this weekend , so the weather being out , i think our insects are confused too !
In Tasmania you should only get Paropsisterna nobilitata.
You need to look closely because the patterns are superficially similar.
