That was my first guess when I seen it as well, but after looking again - it appeared more rounded, and appeared as if all the layers are coming from one large 'stem'. The first photo show this best. It looks like one large ball attached to the tree, unlike the thin layered chicken of the woods I have encountered, but thanks to your link KarenL and cqz186 for saying it looked 'young' I totally agree that your IDs are correct. Thank you both ever so much :)

I agree, it looks like a young Laetiporus sulphureus.
