White Flower spider

Thomisus spectabilis

Description:

This spider likes to wait in the center of white or yellow flowers for nectar-feeding insects. Presumably it is for this reason that its color can vary from white to yellow. The spider demonstrates very well the phenomenon of sexual dimorphism, the male being much smaller and a different color and shape when compared with the female.

Habitat:

In white flowers and lush green vegetation. This one was found on a white Plumeria (common name Frangipani)

Notes:

Toxicity: Probably harmless to humans
