Texas Brown Tarantula

Aphonopelma hentzi

Description:

This is a BIG one! Four inch, side to side leg span! Cocoa, black, and blonde (Blonde doesn't come out well in this pic, I'll upload another one later, with better color). Ok, second pic uploaded! VERY handsome fellow indeed! This pic was taken where I released him (her?). Even let me pet him for a bit, STILL ZERO aggression!

Habitat:

Damp woodland in the Briarcliff/Spicewood area. Seen walking across KwikChek parking lot. Released back into the wild today in Cottonwood Shores area of Marble Falls, near the lake.

Notes:

VERY mellow fellow! Crawled right onto my hand, and up my arm, and posed for a few pics! No sign of aggression at all. Even let me pet it. :) VERY cool find!
