Description:

Upright, rather coarse annual, to 6 ft, but usually shorter. Stem is usually single with branching at top. Yellow flowers grow in clusters, mostly near top of stem. Leaves are sharply toothed and have spines. Contains a milky sap.

Habitat:

Almost all soils and habitats. Introduced from Europe.
