Yellow Disco

Bisporella citrina

Description:

Tiny 3mm (or less) flat bright yellow fungi with a slightly wavy thin margins and short white stalks. A clump of hyphae was seen at the base of most of these mushrooms. The yellow discs were waxy but not shiny and had a slightly thicker central part. These mushrooms were growing in a cluster.

Habitat:

Spotted growing on a small chip of a decayed tree stump or log, that had fallen onto damp earth amongst leaf litter. Found in a damp eucalyptus forest

Notes:

These are also called "lemon drops" because of the colour. Beautiful little fungi. Details not visible to the naked eye - not mine anyway !. If this ID is not accurate, please comment. Thanks http://www.mushroomexpert.com/bisporella...
