Great Crested Flycatcher

Myiarchus crinitus

Description:

These birds arrive in Winter Haven, FL in April. You can hear them before you see them. They have a loud, raucous call, and the pairs call each other continuously. This one posed in our crepe myrtle tree in the back yard. I believe this is the male.

Habitat:

Suburbs and deciduous forests
