Lioness and cub

Panthera leo

Notes:

We were lucky to spend half a day watching a pride of lions, and I was fortunate to capture some images of the cubs and lionesses together. The pride had only a couple of hours before dawn ambushed and killed a buffalo and the whole pride were enjoying a good feed. Adults make sounds with their whole body, their breath condensing in the morning air. It is a huge sound, intimidating, and the first time we heard them roaring up close, it took our breath away!
