Cave Thread-legged Bug

Description:

This Thread Legged Bug (Emesinae) is part of the assassin bug family. It has a very slender body. About 2cm body length. Hind 2 pairs of legs are thin and dark, antennae long and thin too. First pair of legs are more larger and folded, they are used for grabbing prey tightly. Seems to be winged. Reddish brown in color with some few white areas.

Habitat:

Inside Madai Caves, Kunak, Sabah.

Notes:

The first time I spotted a Thread-legged bug was in Madai Caves. This time to Madai Caves I have managed to capture pictures of these bugs. I was told by a local man there that these bugs are abundant at the riverside nearby. I have read about Thread Legged Bugs found at cave entrances in the Internet but so far I do not know anything about Emesinae species that live inside caves. >>>Map accuracy : 2km diameter.
