American Cockroach (preserved)

Periplaneta Americana

Description:

The cockroach above is next to a 10p coin. American cockroaches can live for 1-2 years, can fly, are 28 mm (1.1 in) to 43 mm (1.7 in) long and live in warm buildings, optimum 32 °C (90 °F) where possable. It is part of my own collection, and was not killed to be preserved- the cockroach died of natural causes and was then collected.
