Gynandriris sisyrinchium

Description:

Moraea sisyrinchium or lirio is a wild iris. It is common in south west Iberian peninsula with a herbal look, bulbous, perennial. It has basal linear flexible leaves, longer than the stem. The flowers group at the top, are blue coloured, very labile with the exterior tepals presenting a yellow or white stain and the internal ones standing up, spear shaped and blue. Fuits appear in capsules.

Habitat:

Spotted in a small prairy close to the village
