What about American Pipet? I'm looking at photos and starting to think that's more what it looks like. It's beak is bigger and pointier than a sparrow.
It does look like a hermit thrush. I looked at the bird list for the place I was at, and that one hasn't been spotted there before, but I wonder....Thank you for your help!
