Description:

18-24 inches tall,with several ascending or reclining unbranched stems rising from a woody rootstock. Narrow, lanceolate leaves. Each stem has a solitary, rounded terminal inflorescence of numerous pale yellow-green flowers.

Habitat:

Found growing in sun in dry soil alongside a road.

Notes:

Larval food plant of the Monarch butterfly.
